SEO with the help of smart keyword placements

As a blog writer having a great post to read on a blog is as good as the number of readers to your articles.  Search Engine Optimization plays a very crucial role in determining the number of visitors to your blog / site. I will try to write a series of posts on how to make your site Search Engine optimized to be able to get focus from your targeted audience.

SEO is your means to reach people out searching for information that you can provide to them. There are a lot of websites that offer free and paid SEO tips and ways to increase your page ranking in google.  But I found that most if not all of them focus on commercial web sites and there is little or no help available for a casual blogger.

Here I am providing with a set of SEO tips and tricks that I have came across from reading numerous articles, studying search engine ranking’s and my own experiences. These tips will help Revved Business. Since 90% of the current search are done via Google I am going to mainly focus Google search users.

Focus on getting your Blog post as the center of Search Engine Optimizations and not the blog.
This I think is the most critical factor that most bloggers don’t pay attention to when trying to get their blog’s visibility high. In my experience your blog’s home  page never has the level of content required to be able to achieve the high rankings on the search engines and most of the Link building done on the home page goes unnoticed for the same reason.

The home page is only an anchor to hold your latest posts and provide links to your site structure whereas your posts are the actual content providers that a user will be looking for. This can of course be different for a very few blogs with special focus but for other majority of blogs it is not the case. Having said that make sure that the rest of the SEO tips you use on a post level and not only focus on the site home page.

Using the right keywords.
Next step is to find the keywords that majority of your target audience is more keen on using.  This is one part you must focus upon before publishing or even before you start writing your article. The first step is to begin by writing the keywords you think that people will use to reach your article and make a list of such keywords. It is important to note that most searches nowdays are a set of keywords instead of a single keyword like for example, instead of just using SEO you would probably have used something like Increase blog traffic or SEO tips & tricks.

After you have a nice list of keywords go to a tool that can give you an estimate on how many times a keyword is used roughly. Google has a nice free tool ( which does the work for you.  This tool also tries to give you some more suggestions of keywords along with showing how many times the keyword was searches and what is the estimated competition for this keyword.

Now you should have a nice set of keywords with their linked number of searches per month. Pick about 6-8 of the top most searched keywords and then out of these pick 3-5 keywords which don’t have a high competition but offer great user base.  Now while writing your article you should focus on using these phrases in your post. But make sure you don’t over stuff your post with keywords as if the search engine crawler sees too many keywords it might consider the page to be spam and this will affect your search ranking severely. A good Keyword density to maintain is around 10%.

Ensure that you use those keywords as the title of your post and in the meta tags for your post. For e.g. in this page I have used the title as SEO – Increase Blog traffic – SEO tools – SEO tips & tricks which includes 3 keywords I am focusing on. Also the keywords are spread out in the article and are in bold to draw attention from both readers and search engines. The search engines give special weigh to the text within the Title, H1, H2, H3, bold, etc.. markups so be sure to use those wisely.

I am sure if you follow these simple steps you will be able to gain higher rankings in search engines and thus eventually drive more web traffic to your blog. SEO demands patience and you need to give it some time before your blog/posts start gaining the popularity. In my next article I will cover some more basic SEO techniques to help you gain even higher search rankings.

That article although somewhat related does not give any information on SEO or on increasing web traffic but more on keeping a track on the visitors and your websites statistics.
